Communities of Interest

The Fenway Library Organization facilitates several groups centered around different communities of interest in the world of academic libraries.  Professionals involved in Library and Information Science outside of FLO are welcome and encouraged to join.  Be advised, most meetings will be held in the Boston-area.

Assessment This community of interest focuses on Assessment in the library including how to build and conduct surveys, and how to use that data to justify, improve, and advocate for library services.
Collection Management This community of interest focuses on Collection Management and the development and maintenance of print and electronic library collections.
Discovery This community of interest focuses on Discovery services in libraries including topics such as user experience, discovery layer technologies, usability and more. While many libraries in the area are using EBSCO Discovery Service, this group is open to discussing other services as well as big-picture topics for Discovery layers in general.
Information Literacy This community of interest focuses on Information Literacy including topics such as reference and instruction services, working with faculty, user instruction, and more.
