On May 3rd, FLO hosted the 2023 Information Literacy and Online Learning Symposium at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Traditionally, FLO has hosted an information literacy event each year, and this event marked the return of the tradition since 2019.
At Wentworth, library staff from the FLO community and beyond gathered in Watson Hall to learn and share about open educational resources and information literacy.
Keynote speaker Erin McCoy of Massasoit Community College presented about Open Educational Resources (OER) and its applications for information literacy, then led attendees through a workshop to begin designing their own instruction plans by drawing from and mixing OER texts.
After the workshop, Shannon Compton (Bay Path University), Ted Intarabumrung (Roxbury Community College), and Hedda Monaghan (Framingham State University) each gave short lightning talks about OER and information literacy projects at their libraries.
