The FLO Accessibility working group produced the FLO Accessibility Toolkit earlier this year as a tool for evaluating website accessibility.
Available on the FLO website under Resources, the LibGuide offers key resources for the FLO community related to accessibility requirements, best practices, and tools for digital access and website evaluation. We welcome our member institutions to use the toolkit in their own web assessment projects or to share with whoever may find it useful. The toolkit covers topics from understanding different types of disabilities to crafting an accessibility statement and following state-wide standards. Most of all, it's a hub of online free resources curated by FLO and HELM librarians. The toolkit is an ongoing project, and feedback is always welcome!
The FLO Accessibility working group is an initiative of the FLO IDEA committee. The FLO Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility (IDEA) Committee establishes and steers IDEA goals and priorities in coordination with the FLO Board. The IDEA Accessibility Subcommittee will be using their own toolkit to evaluate the FLO website this spring. If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact Eliana Lima at eliana@flo.org.
